Intersecting Life and Faith

Why Am I Blind?

I’m off traipsing through the Midwest with my mom and sisters, so time to head to the archives of my blog! I don’t remember everything I’ve written in the past 3+ years so you  probably don’t either! Happy Wednesday!

The blind man of John 9 may have asked this question many times before Jesus came on the scene. Before I really understood the sovereignty of God and His control over every area of my life, I asked the same question.

Why did Larry get cancer with so much life ahead of him? Why did Lydia’s baby die so suddenly?(fictious names) Why do people die after an out-patient procedure gone wrong? You can add your own questions. I’ve never asked out of anger or displeasure towards God because I am the created, He IS the CREATOR. But the questions linger don’t they?

The wonderful women’s Sunday School class I am privileged to lead every week is studying the book of John. I continue to be amazed how after 30+ years of studying,  God’s Word is still new and fresh, learning something new everyday. I have come to know and love God and His Word. It is the delight of my soul.

Next time you are tempted to ask “why”?, the answer to the question can be found here.

This came about(the man’s blindness) so that God’s works might be displayed in him. John 9:3b

I always find it amazing at how I can read a passage of scripture over and over and get something new out of it every time, depending on the situation I find myself in.
