Intersecting Life and Faith

I’m not sure why, well I know why I cry when I see pictures Friday, December 14, 2012. Pictures of children who were only 1st graders and the loving teachers, principal, special ed. teacher, substitute teacher and teachers aide who died protecting the rest of the students in the Sandyhook school.

I’m at a loss for words..again. But Romans 12:15 does come to mind

…weep with those who weep.

I probably won’t get in my car and head east 4 hours, but I would like to. I will instead continue to look at the pictures of a sister who just heard her sibling was one of the teachers who died protecting ‘her kids’ and not look away when Facebook pictures of those being laid to rest this week will continue on my newsfeed.

I may not be able to sit in the back pew of a memorial service, but I can pray for all those who are weeping…and continue to weep with those who weep.

I don’t want to trust in the illusion of ‘absolute safety’. I Do want to trust in the God who rules absolutely. Rob Gates

I will continue to pray, but will be shutting off the TV, I don’t need details in order to pray for those who are grieving.

Praying for all those families. Such heartbreak is hard to see.
