Intersecting Life and Faith

Lemonade & Lights

There are days when life is a bowl of sour lemons, with no end in sight to the bleakness of our circumstances. God does not tell us to make lemonade when life hands us lemons, nor does He say when you get to the end of your rope to tie a knot and hang on. He does not say ‘meet me at the end of the tunnel when we see a light at the end of the tunnel.

...he is in the tunnel with us.

When the waters seem like they are going to overflow or the fire is too hot, Jesus, the lover of our souls goes into the fire with us.

This is where we need to start everyday…

You shall fear the Lord your God. You shall serve him and hold fast to him…
Deuteronomy 10:20
…loving the Lord your God, obeying his voice and holding fast to him, for he is your life and length of days,…Deuteronomy 30:20
The Lord is my light and salvation; whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27:1
…who has kept our soul among the living and has not let our feet slip Psalm 66:9
Hold fast to God, let go of the rope and the bowl of lemons and the light at the end of the tunnel.
God is our refuge. Hold onto Him as He holds onto you.
Difficulties provide a platform on which the Lord can display His power.
