I want to live with no regrets.
I want to live with no secrets...
...transparently and authentically...
When Jesus called me to take up my cross and follow Him I had no idea where He was going or where He would lead me.
In Bible college many years ago, I was a young Christian trying to figure out what God wanted with me. What did he want with a farm girl? He showed me Matthew 10:37
Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
This does not say we are to not love our earthly family...God gives marriage and family. But His question to me that night in a college library was
Will you FOLLOW ME no matter what? Will you follow me without fear? Will you follow me?
I said yes, I will follow You, I will love You with all my heart, with all my soul and with all my mind, and I will love my neighbor.
Have I loved everyday? No.
Have I loved my neighbor everyday? No.
Today I listened to Luke 14 with verse 33 coming in loud and clear
In the same way, everyone of you who does not say good-bye to all his possessions cannot be my disciple.
Is it wrong to have possessions? No, but if I am attached to what I own more than being totally devoted to my Savior then there's a problem. Hold loosely to the things of this world and tightly to the heart of Jesus.
"Follow Me," Jesus said...an invitation to taste pleasure that can only be found in a supernatural relationship with Jesus. He beckons you to let your heart be captivated by his greatness and your life be changed by he grace. Turn from your sin and yourself and trust in him as the all-sovereign, all-satisfying Savior of your soul. David Platt from Follow Me
