Come for A Visit

Central New York (where I live) does not always look like this snowIn fact, I took some time this week to take pictures of the beautiful area I've called home for ten years.Upstate NY for ten years, and closer to NYC, Kingston, NY for seven. For my family and friends who have not seen New York, and think of New York City when you hear I live in New York.( I was guilty of the same thing before I lived here)

No, not a picture of the weeds on the side of the road or of the mirror, but what you can see in the rear-view mirror.

photo (14)No, not the guardrail or the house...look out beyond the house into the valley. This is just up the hill from our house.

photo (10)Wish there was a way to take pictures without all the telephone poles and electric lines...thankful for electricity though.

photo (12)81 North and South runs through some breathtaking scenery...in the spring, summer and fall...not so much in the winter. Take 81 South to exit 15, to Lafayette, that is where you will find us...so come visit!!

And when you come to visit we will have fresh strawberries.

photo (13)We will also have homemade Strawberry Balsamic Vinaigrette on our salad. The recipe calls for balsamic vinegar, which I did not have on hand. So used white and red wine vinegar. Too vinegary, is that a word? Anyway, next time I make it I will use what the recipe calls for.

I also made Black Bean and Corn Salsa this week. Probably not on everyone's menu, but is sure is yummy. The recipe calls for fresh cilantro, which I do not keep on hand, it is good without it, but I think the cilantro is what makes it salsa.

No picture of the room you'd stay in if you came for a visit, but it's ready for anyone who wants to come visit the great state of New York.
