Bitterness: Bondage or Grace? Part 2

Listen to part 2 of Bitterness: Bondage or Grace? A few of my notes.. Bitterness is anger internalized... Wrath is anger externalized... Are you a bitter person or do you know someone who is bitter? There is hope in the gospel of Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians encourages us everyday can be a new day because I am a new creature in Christ. Practical steps in struggling with bitterness.
  1. Don't underestimate the spiritual battle involved in bitterness. (Ephesians 4:26)  If I am bitter I have allowed satan to reside in a room of my soul. I need to say "No Vacancy"!
  2. Genuinely repent of your bitterness before God--bitterness is a sin that put Christ on the cross.
  3. Recognize bitterness is always a grace issue. Mercy= not giving what is deserved, grace= giving what is not deserved.  Matthew 6:14
  4. Live a forgiving life.
  5. Tend your garden diligently-ongoing battle of weeds. Deal with bitterness at its root. Weed killer for bitterness is Hebrews 12:15. God's grace is the weed killer for bitterness.
God's wonderful grace= God loves me, I will fail today and God will still love me; God will not love me less or reduce my justification or chance of going to heaven. May we all tend our garden today saturating our heart, mind and soul in the water of God's Word.
