God often jog's my memory regarding worry. I have Matthew 6:34 memorized
Therefore don't worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
The title in my Bible for this passage is The Cure for Anxiety and specifically addresses what we will wear, what we will eat, what will we drink. Philippians 4:6 tells us do not worry about ANYTHING!
Don't worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses every thought, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
It doesn't get any clearer than that. God says do not worry. But it still seems to be lurking in the corners of my mind, tempting me to worry about the future, about my kids, who will be in the White house, always plenty to disobey God about and set my mind to worrying. I came across this article on worry last week finding I am not alone when it comes to the what if's of life. Isn't this the truth...?
...I decided that worrying is nothing but faith in the devil. --Andree Seu
I am making a daily choice to not have faith in the devil but in my heavenly Father who is still writing my story and the story of those I love trusting He knows what is best and whatever He does is good, because He is good.
You are good, and You do what is good; teach me your statutes. Psalm 119:68
